Pros
If you have a multi dog household, this is the unit for you. Big dogs with big lips mean icky water dishes always. I have 3 big dogs and it's helpful here in az.
Two adults go through our 6. Foot yard. There are seven resident dogs. English mastiff is a sweet, kindly, generous creature if ever one trod the earth.
Cons
The water jug is very difficult to open and shut. The o ring wears out after opening and closing the lid after 2 times and then it costs you $5. Once they fix some longevity issues with the seals i will reconsider.

The design doesnt seem to allow for much backflow contamination so im not too worried about the water in the tank staying fresh

When the water in the bowl gets dirty i can simply seal the spout remove the drain plug and drain the dirty water into a small bowl held underneath the waterer

It does look like the rubber oring inside the lid will need frequent replacement possibly almost every time i open the lid to refill though due to the capacity of the waterer that wont be super often
