I got them hooked up in about three minutes and played the same track id just been listening to on the a2s

This is my first time buying an audioengine product

I swapped to these from the larger audioengine a5 and i much prefer these particularly in a small area for nearfield use at a desk

I did so choose and paired them with a 10inch sub that i recently retired from my home theater setup

If you want better performance you can use an external dac im using a schiit modi multibit schiit vali headphone amp

The first pair of these i got worked for about an hour then the left speaker cut out and stopped making any sound

However i found that using the speakers builtin crossover left them feeling somewhat disjointed from the sub probably because sounds above 80hz are localizable so that range of sounds between 80 and 100hz was audibly coming from a different location than the speakers

In the end though i decided that audioengines customer service earned them that star back
