Pros & Cons
Pros
It is fast cutting but controllable, users beware, but i am not sure how long it will last. Absolutely durable and worth the money.
This is all you need to flatten all your water stones. Works great flattening all of my shapton glass stones. Stone is great, perfectly flat, matches the flatness of float glass.
Grit atoma diamond whetstone. The #140 of cause is the roughest among the #400 and #1200. Both the 140 grit and the 400 grit levels work well for flattening japanese water stones.
The structured diamond is superior to other diamond products i have used. The unique surface texture seems to cut better than some other ones. The aluminum core is lighter and easier to handle.
It lives up to all the hype. As with most diamonds, this is really rough and grabby at first. Honestly couldn't be happier.
Cons
The flatness of the atoma is not good enough to flatten a plane iron or chisel back. Unfortunately this stone has flatness issues too.

Works great for flattening water stones and reprofilingfixing damaged knives

Purchased the atoma 140 when it went on sale and have enjoyed using it ever since
Came as advertised at a great price excellent for flattening your dished whetstones
Spend the 30 for a norton flattenign stone
Its an expensive but a useful tool that i appreciate having in my collection
Packaging/appearance
The 140 plate i received was dead flat and a genuine atoma140 grit diamond plate with aluminum base
Competitiveness
I have had a number of other brands and these seem to hold up as well or better than most even including more expensive brands
Also the aluminum core is lighter and easier to handle when compared to the diasharps
I have used various diamond plates from various brands and these wear slower than most brand specifically on flattering sharpening stones
The 140 of cause is the roughest among the 400 and 1200 i had acquired before
