Pros

Great all around motherboard. Extra $ for the deluxe model is well worth it. On-board diagnostic support, and the setup features.

Sm951 nvme 512gb performs even above specification and is fully bootable. Comes with six sata cables with both straight and l shaped connections. A pcie adapter is also included to add a second m. Pcie slot.

Fan expert software built in on the motherboard. Almost makes a fan controller redundant. Fan headers are plentiful.


Cons

The asus z170 deluxe board looks to me to be the most feature rich z170 board on the market, but i will never purchase another asus product, especially a motherboard. Beautiful board but plagued with issues. See the photo of seal.

This company is garbage. Buyer beware if you intend to use this with a samsung 950 pro or similar. I just can't justify buying any more products from them.

Quite a frustrating experience with asus. This means you won't be able to use bitlocker in a more secure/convenient way. You can't use some enterprise apps.

Ive been running this rig for a couple of months and im very pleased with the motherboard

I have been impressed and amazed by this product

The system is completely hung with the 4f error

Unfortunately it seems the board is dead most likely the result of a crapped out bios

While expensive i think this was the right motherboard to pair with an intel 6700k processor

    You plug all your fans on the motherboard you specify in the software the fan location and it does automatic calibration to determine each fans capabilities individually and then combined to optimise air flow

    If i could make changes i would alter the indicator lights and the various buttons power reset status led to white to avoid contrasting with the color theme of the board

    Other thoughts out of the box its really slow on boot compared to my asrock extreme 6 z97 system that has the same ssd and an i7 4790k the asrock board boots in 4
