This card have one of the best if not the best dac in this price .
Now with essence is much more simpler but the card is at leaset 50% more expensive than xonar dx.
I had an xonar dx with a pair of akg that had a price of around 30euros.

Result: some recordings i formerly perceived as good sounding now sounded like crap while for example some muffled recordings i had now have sparkle and detail.
