    I put dd-wrt on it from day 1 so i can't speak for the asus software but haven't had any issues.

    But it has the lame implementation of repeaters which plague the router commercial products: it doesn't regenerate the signal -- i would go as far as to say that it actually degrades it.

    In telecommunications, repeaters have the inherent property of regenerating the signal, otherwise they are pretty much useless, it is unfortunate that the status quo for the industry is neglecting a big part of the router's asset.

    Asus' firmware install tool is the worst garbage i've ever seen.

    I'm tempted to say it's like they just released a flakey tool meant to be internal-only, except i have to imagine it would get fixed up after an employee had to use it even once.
