I had previously purchased a nalgene aspirator, and the little rubber flap check valve in it tore fairly quickly.

Then it keeps the vacuum held when the water's turned off - because the check valve doesn't totally suck.

It's so badass and virtually bulletproof, that if given half the chance and properly hooked up, it could literally suck the atmosphere clean off the face of the planet.

My chamber is a hefty 3 gallons, and the faucet to which i connected the aspirator has terrible water pressure (i'm not sure why, it just suddenly lost about 40% one day and i haven't been able to fix it).

In spite of these obstacles, in just a couple minutes the aspirator pulled 27.
