    They are getting better but even for a given color temp say 2700k there is wide variation some whose light is very harsh and industrial looking others resembling a typical incandescent bulb

    Home depot lets you try the bulbs out and you can return the ones you dont like

    At 1800k lowest k ive seen these produce a warm redorange fire like tint as if it were an incandescent bulb dimmed down considerably

    Led bulbs don’t really dim that low and tend to be between 3050 brightness at their lowest setting

    The fillaments inside look a little different since they have long thin bright yellow corn cob style led material inside

    They are still dimmable but the 1800k makes then much more orange in color than regular bulbs that are typically in the 2700 – 6000 range

    You can see the filaments clearly through the glass and the cut and etched patterns in the shades are actually visible with these bulbs
