After i shocked the pool, the water turned white and cloudy.

My plan was to use floc first, circulate for a few hours (bypassing the filter - you don't want this stuff going in there) and then turn off pump and wait 40-50 hours to settle.

At first, it appeared that some of the stuff had risen to the surface and might never sink, but it eventually all fell to the bottom.

Once everything was settled into heavy clouds at the bottom of the pool, it can be carefully vacuumed out with an attachment that rolls along the surface (don't use the bag-type attachments, won't work.

If you disturb the water before 40-50 hours, you might be wasting your product and creating a bigger mess.

Unless you fix the problem that caused the initial cloudiness (improper levels, bad filter, too much debris from trees/animals/etc,) this is only going to be a band aid that clears up the pool for a week or two.

Make sure to follow the directions to vacuum the settled matter at the bottom of the pool thru the waste setting, not thru the filter.
