    Of course it is not good practice to test these valves as they may fail to reseat and they you have a porblem on your hands

    In all likelihood if the valve is sitting there not leaking it will wotk in an overpressure situation it just may not reseat after the problem is fixed

    Should include a new fibre washer though so if youre replacing a valve get a new washer before you start

    After draining my boiler down some removed leaking watts and installed this one

    Historically as this particular type of valve ages and once it is activated it begins to leak and must be replaced
