I discovered that the powerport 2 elite worked well for charging but sadly does not retain the original blue/green/blue led charging lighting behavior as the non elite powerport 2 version.

It's not good to overcharge your devices, so once you know it has turned blue after the green status, it is ok to remove the device.

It appears to me that this unit will last several years before needing to be replaced (probably better tech by then).
