Pros

These are high carbon steel and are weighted very nicely. The edge retention is quite good and they hone up very easily. The cutting edges are fantastic. The rivets in the handles are very nicely done.

These are wonderful knives not just ‘for the price’ (that part is a bonus that makes the purchase a no-brainer). The knive set is amazing, just a shorter living product then more expensive ones.

Great for the kitchen specially on a budget. This set comes with a great chef's knife which i use for almost all of my chopping. Attractive and the block can definitely be painted to match your kitchen. It has the basics you need in the kitchen.

Cons

Even after sharpening neither the pairing or chef's knife is able to cut paper, rather they tear the paper. The steak knives are nearly dull. Handwash ruins the handles as they shrink a bit and become foggy black rather then a nice black finish.

Better to splurge on a higher quality. Should have invested in better quality knives in the first place. But that goes to show that the quality is truly not good.

Competitiveness

I previously purchased a 200 henckels set as well as a 500 zwilling twin set and these amazon knives are just as nice

The only reason to spend more money is if you are trying to impress someone with a brand name
