The cameras are wireless and the xt2 is also waterproof so you can put it anywhere within range of your wifi signal and the blink hub

However because it runs on batteries you dont get a constant view it will record for a short burst when it detects motion with an adjustable length of time up to 60 seconds or as short as 5 seconds and also adjustable for the period until it triggers again

If you want you can get a live view from the camera which lasts about 30 seconds until it asks you whether to continue

Well these are security cameras rather than baby monitor type cameras

They also have a pretty poor bracket and unbelievably you can simply pull the camera off the bracket at any time

So if you for instance have a camera above your door theres nothing to stop a visitor from walking up and pulling the camera off its bracket and walking off with it
