I would not recommend this watch or any for that matter for a child anyone who does not take care of their other possessions or someone who is ignorant having no knowledge of about the care and handling of mechanical watches

The most common mistake made is over winding a mechanical watch

Once this has happened the watch will have to be taken to a watch jeweler for repairs unless it is under warranty
