It works very well for this and the humidity setting seems to be very close to the actual setting on the humidistat

I have the sensor set to turn on at 50 and then the furnace fan runs at a reduced speed while cooling to reduce the humidity level

Working good for me i wired a cord and plug on so i could plug my dehumidifier into it because the dehumidifier is a piece of crap
