Because we have cabinets above it had to reverse the platforms when assembling to have the plates below and cupsbowls on top

I considered just drilling a hole through the main vertical pillars but the screws holding up the shelves are attached to a horizontal cross brace and not the vertical pillar

The material does appear to be stainless steel but it is a very thin gauge material

Do note that in this orientation the bottom water pan will not fit in its designated spot

There is nowhere to put these nuts and screws on this dish rack so i think they are just extraneous or possibly included by mistake
