Pros

Tachometer uses reflective tape to act as a trigger. Easy to read instruction manual. One complaint is that the readout is upsidedown.

To reduce hopping around or erroneous values on the rpm readings hold the unit away (15-20 inches) from the rotating part. The lathe chuck has too many self-reflecting angles but the chuck mounting plat in the back works perfectly.

Cons

The receiver works because if i point it at a florescent lamp, it shows a reading but it does not produce it's own light source like it is supposed to. Now laser comes on but it will not detect the reflector. Will try a new 9v battery.

This is a very solid unit for the value

The dealer wants 75 plus hourly rate just to adjust the rpms

But for the use at the price could not pass up another one
