I needed to buy a new one as my previous bq own brand one which you need to press a button to retract turned out to be very useless and flimsy

However the tape has a tendency to spiral not stay flat on a long run which can be annoying when measuring single handedthe solution is to engage the brake this stops the tape movement

The lock on that one had become worn over time so the tape wasnt holding in place not great for accurate measuring

Most of the one star reviews dont seem to realise that the missing numbers on the bottom is the width of the body of the measure

Just want to say that if not already pointed out by others the reverse markings are offset so it can be used for measuring internal spaces accurately for example exact width of a door frame

Unfortunately when the tape was extended and locked it slowly slipped back into the body making it useless for measuring inside gaps
