This means that your mug wont eventually leak or be susceptible to bacteria growing in the rivethole
Unlike some cheaper mugs the handle isnt riveted but is attached without making any holes in the mug
My husband left a little in one night and it discolored the bottom

This mug has a foodgrade lacquer covering it to delay that but it can be scrubbed off
