The back isn't a complete piece but the frame is more like a tightly wrapped 'c' and you slide the photo in the end tabs of the 'c'.

These wrap around on both ends, meaning that once they're in place on wall, there's not really any way to flex the holder.

Fair warning: don't install this tape on any surfaces you want to remove it from later - it'll damage the finish.
