Since it isnt one of those retractable ones its difficult to carry it around when not in use of course plastic would not holdup to being retracted on a consistent basis

These worked great for about 23 times but then the umbrella metal pieces started popping out of place and bending

The only suggestion i would make for pictures is that they have a strap with a snap to hold them closed and so i would either cut those off or make sure they are turned where you cant see them for pictures
