Anyway, my basement is noticeably drier, and when it reaches the humidity setting i set, it shuts off.

Waaaay overkill for my small closet, but it cycles off when the humidity drops.

Unit will not turn on unless the bucket is put in exactly right which is a big plus along with the auto shut off when the bucket is full.

Please note – when you first get it and you aren't hooking it up to the hose make sure that the hose connection is closed.
