Pros

Used on bike helmets and riding gear. My trailer has one of those flip up rear ramps. Makes my boat and trailer safer.

The 3m 3430 white micro prismatic sheeting reflective tape seems to be a very good narrow reflective tape. This tape is thin enough that it's not too glaring, but it still illuminates the edge of the bottom step.

It is about the width of your pinky fingernail on an adult. With the light coming in from proper angle, it's very reflective.

Cons

This product is inconsistently cut in width. The tape is really thin, reflects weakly, and does not ahhere to clothing very well. The plastic is brittle. Not reflective enough when lit from different angles.
