You only touch the bottom of the round portion to the blood and then set that stick down in the 1 drop of water on the card

Make sure you drop your single water drop from about an inch high off the card

The lancets required a surprising amount of pressure to activate which was intimidating for the first person then we all agreed the actual stick was more heard as a click than felthurt as pain
