I wear these at night to help with the pain caused by grabbing something heavy and losing my grip which wound up bending my thumb back and over extending it. Sort of a sprain tear. I was hurting for weeks, got tired of wrapping it all the time this makes it easy, and keeps me from bending it wrong in my sleep, and not only injuring it further, but waking me up.I work on a computer and I was in constant discomfort from the sprain, this allowed me to work in comfort, even now I wear it when working, it keeps my wrist in comfort.Not too small, I have an 8.5 inch wrist, just fits fine, plenty snug.The only con:Take the time to rinse this off before you wear it, I found that the band had a chemical fire retardant, as do all new fabrics, and it did irritate my wrist. I rinsed both and do not have a problem, It does dry fast.
