For halogens you have to be careful not to touch the bulb with your fingers the fingerprint residue can causes the halogen bulb to burn out and fail immediately as it burns very hot

The dimmer switch caused the lamps to flicker when turned from the off position and it then went to full brightness when turned to the full position

The lamp had glass shield and wasnt able to put back on cause of the size difference

Comparable to the difference of a 100w vs 60w incandenced bulbthe desk lamp would get so hot that adjusting its angle would be almost impossible it now gets barely lukewarm
