Used a drill to make appropriately sized hole. Drilled from the inside. Some complain that the ends aren't punched out, but all you have to do is use your soldering iron and poke a small hole.

These are a great way to keep dust and debris out of the back of your power poles. Not to mention, they cover the sea coral sharp edges of my powerpole edges and corners. Always good to cover the connector and provide a grip.

    Once installed they dont cover the connection completely like i thought they would

    And if you clip too large when installing the cover will slip on and off when gripping the connectors to disconnect

    I think if i ever have the desire to use these on anything smaller than say 14awg i think ill use a leather hole punch to cut a nice small hole and using a round wood dowel that fits up inside the boot as the anvil for the punch

    To get a tight fit around the cables poke a hole with an auger or screwdriver instead of cutting the ends off
