Pros

For the newbie, dan simplifies the what and how of meditation. This was -- and still is -- compelling storytelling that very personally (and funnily) makes the case for why everyone can meditate and not be woo-woo. For people who say he doesn’t teach ...  Read More

Cons

The book is not a serious study of meditation as i was led to believe. It is all about dan harris and not meditation. It's quite sad that meditation didn't make him 10% more humble. Harris is a buddhist.

This book is entirely filler material. The title lends itself to easy mis-interpretation. The rest has very little shallow insights and almost zero deep insights.

Minneapolis isn't the south. It is way too long relative to the amount of information it contains. Don't waste your time with it.

The writing is competent and grammatically correct, but i would hardly call harris a master storyteller. It depicts dan as a shallow guy, who thinks very highly of himself and think quite lowly about everyone else. Vain and shallow.
