The reason you should be willing to pay a bit more for a pack like this: rip-stop nylon, and not just a shapeless lump with separate small/medium/large/tiny zippable zones.

Rip-stop nylon is super-important, no matter the bag you pick b/c i've had other packable backpacks that get punctured (for example) by the corner of a hardback book or something, and bam, you're in real trouble if you were counting on it for anything.
