Megnet is neither too strong nor too weak, perfect! The pieces look like metal and the weighting (with magnets) gives them a feel more like metal than plastic. It’s compact when folded, but you can still see the pieces/squares with clarity.
For infrequent travel use it seems pretty ok. Very well made and quick on the shipping. Affordable price and good quality product.
This is not just an awesome little travel set, but the algebraic markings make it great for propping up in bed at night and studying from the vast wealth of youtube tutorials. Its nice and portable.
The magnets are not very strong, either. The pieces should be molded with more shallow depressions for the magnets. The colors are practically indistinguishable! It does not work correctly--there is something wrong with the electronics.

Product works as advertised. Put the original battery back in & it works as it should.
It has a good rocker switch that stops/starts the clocks without problems. Already programmed with classical, rapid, blitz timer too.
The canadian byo-yomi timings are probably usable, but they do not show you how many moves are remaining. It is a shame that its software and display was clearly designed by somebody that did not understand the timing systems.
The toggle does nothing, so it's essentially useless. Messed with all the settings and even put in a new battery and still does not work.
