Clear voice and distinct dialogue that's not drowned out by background music. The bar is able to decode surround sound signals even though it doesn't have a bunch of speakers to use with that signal. Clear voice is really good and movie mode is great.... Read More
The sound is good, and the bass is adjustable via remote. While not bose level sound, it packs good rich sound for movies & music in a small package at a fair price. This yamaha is much more powerful and play louder than that bose at half the cost... Read More
It's small enough to not stick out like a sore thumb. Though the size is compact, the sound is robust. There is better soundbars out there and much more expensive, but for something affordable, with decent sound then this bar will fit the bill.
The sound quality is surprisingly good for the size of the unit. I'm only partial audiophile, but i do have 2 of these and they are decent.
All you have to do is plug the optical cable into the tv outlet on the back of the soundbar. Go to settings on your tv and select optical audio on audio inputs.
The sound quality is okay, but the bass is terrible. There's more bass, sure, but there's little clarity and music sounds muffled. The sound bar's functionality is horrible.
Very dissatisfied with yamaha. Save your money and put it towards something nicer" "this is one of the few disappointing purchases!
This soundbar sounds really good for the price. The subwoofer is noticeable but not overpowering. Volume and bass is decent.
Using optical, my tv controls the volume of the soundbar. It powers up automatically when the tv power is turned on.
Atmos sound from netflix and appletv content is not a noticeable difference. The sound quality is subpar even for the price but the real problem is the subwoofer. The primary dialogue gets washed out with all the tinny background noise.
Swapped hdmi cable - no menu.
