It absorbs liquids, which is a good thing, but the smell does not wash out. Mine is totally not waterproof and the pee/liquids go right thru to my hardwood floor. No instructions on how to wash or even how to get the urine out.

The only thing this pad has working for it is that it is anti slip. My dog peed on it and it seeped through again.
