They aren't bulky like the big old fashion lamps. I have a hard time picturing the size of something until i see it. These are a little smaller than what i was anticipating.

Last night when on the highest setting one of the lamps started pulsating. Too flimsy, it's look like it's going to fall.

Both the top & bottom bulb have 3 different brightness settings you can choose from. The base bulb has three settings, two of which are very bright. The brightness gives the room a speical look.
