The box is heavily damaged. Oversized box with no filler to cushion or soften things.

The hand-carved wood pieces are stored in their own indented spaces. The pieces are sturdy and have felt bottoms so they don't scratch the wood. With the magnets, if someone knocks into the game, the pieces stay in place.

Good quality mousepad. Works well, mouse moves smoothly over the surface with just the right amount of resistance so it doesn't glide.

For the price and purpose of the set, it's not noticeable nor does its imperfections get in the way of playing a good game. The extra queen for each side is a nice touch and the checkers were also a great bonus for this set.
