It wirelessly connects to the soundbar and provides decent bass. Not only is this sub outstanding, the s60b bar it pairs with is equally impressive for the size. My sub is in the corner and can make it sound very different.
The sub is small, but really packs a punch. For the cost, if you don't care about having real surround sound, this is a no-brainer. It's compact with good bass.
The new sound bar has the exact same issues. There were no power cords with it at all. It has the same issue with the power cord.
