I love the art, but it does not suggest the grit of dueling factions with an insurrection brewing underneath that obvious struggle. The mechanics are not complex but have sufficient nut-and-bolts to allow for good character differentiation.

Great craftsmanship - a nice piece for display. Nice colors, nice sturdy pieces and the board seems to be very sturdy. Very pleased with this chess set.

The 17 board, extra queens, interior felted storage area, and wooden pieces were all appreciated. Not bad for a novice player like myself and are finished nice enough to be a good set. It's very impressive to look at.

Chess is a great thinking game and is making a resurgence. The price is very reasonable, the size is great--most online are smaller by two inches--and the durability is more than satisfactory.

The rim of the board is rimmed by glue overflow. Sadly the edging is misaligned. Expected way too high.

Received this as a gift and was immensely disappointed. Putting a chunky black and gold business card in the box isn't enough of an illusion of luxury to trick me. This should be advertised as a factory reject rather than some premium product.
