Pros and Cons

Pros4

Love the ip, lots of potential replay value and there are sure to be plenty of expansions. As a stand alinea game, probably high school and up. It plays very similar to the original disney incarnation but it feels more streamlined to let newcomers enj...  Read More

All the chits and the gameboard are also of good quality, nothing feels flimsy. I love the 3d mover though not everyone satisfies with the quality. Tl;dr = an awesome collector's piece, but not great as a board game.

The rounds progress quickly and it's perfectly playable with only 2 people. It says a lot about the game that after losing badly, i was excited to try again.

The complexity comes from the intricate card interactions and the high level of asymmetry. There are lots of rules to keep track of so it will take a few times to memorize everything. I like how the rules and objectives have a thematic basis, though.

Cons2

The miniatures for each character are also quite ugly; only the general grievous one is nice to look at. The villains are so unbalanced as to make the useless in the game. Will be contacting company and getting a new one.

The learning curve is ridiculous steep. Each character having different objectives is too overwhelming. Instructions also aren’t clear with ambition.

Pros3

Each faction has it's own deck of civ buildings. There is a civ deck you will draw from (unique to your civ) and a public deck that you can use. This means you need different strategies to play different civs.

Game has a multiplier for limited resources but it is not as good as a real fleshy pink meeple. This streamlined version keeps the same mechanics at its heart but make the strategy and play more accessible for me.
