The 14 by 14 is 1/4 thick weighs almost 13 pounds. It is close to 3/8th inches thick and heavy. The peel is very thin is good and even better is that it folds in half.
It has a dark somewhat speckled/grainy surface that reminds me of a non-stick coating. Might be seasoning, but not sure.

This thick stone is vary durable; over two yeas so far and doing great. It is heavy compared to the other stones we have used, which seems to be a promising feature for longevity.
Yuk, junk. It’s bigger and heavier than i had expected and very hard to manage. Instructions say to heat the stone for like 30 minutes before using, which makes it impractical.
