Pros and Cons

Pros5

No hum or buzz, no flicker, no harsh cold light, just pure colors. It has 2 levels of brightness so the dimmable was a must.

This bulb has a reflective exterior and side-light-distributing glass cover, similar to the original halogen bulb that it replaces. It also has the same silver reflector. These bulbs run much cooler than the halogens.

Used this to replace the halogen bulbs in my stove hood. These are a perfect for the older halogen bulb.

They produce a clear, strong light without harshness. Bright, but not offensive.

The 3000k color is about like the horrendously hot halogens they replaced, and they have a semi flood pattern. The bluish-white color is more blue-white than the warmer halogens.

Cons1

These are brighter but unusable due to the flickering. Really missing the warmth and narrow light cone of real halogen lamps. These led bulbs cost more and break at a faster rate.

Pros2

Installation is very easy, but of course you have to rewire the fixture.

tubes are a bit expensive but about the same as new ballast. Little pricey but worth the few extra bucks to replace fluorescent tubes. No complains however.

Cons1

After diconecting old ballast which was riveted to fixture, found there were 5-6 too short wires wires to deal with. It's now in the trash can. Would not recommend without prior electrical+lighting expertise.
