The shade diffuses the light enough to work well in the living room without too much glare on the tv. It makes a great desk lamp or accent lamp.

Grey shade. The dimming feature is great and the 2 usb ports are perfect. It's right next to me for tv and reading - perfect brightness.

Not durable for a teenager. No replacement bulbs work either.
