They work excellently and the light is remarkable. They appear to be identical to the ecosmart brand that home depot carries, other than the branding (and bulb color) all are 3000k.
The brightness helps with intricate sewing such as appliqué. They're good for task lighting - or even in the house generally if you like a hotter color, without resorting to the ghastly daylight bulbs.
For some reason, the initially-popular 3500k color seems to have been edged out by the ubiquitous 3000k color now. It shows daylight light as promised.
I rolled the dice and bought these. Installed one in the same room where two other feit 2700k bulbs are installed and controlled by the same dimmer switch. The dimming performance is different than the feit bulbs.
It starts to flicker occasionally, then it gets worse and worse, until it goes out completely. Every bulb we have installed is flickering. Despite being dimmable and used with a brand new lutron led dimmer switch these bulbs all still flicker.
Ugh frustrating. I also think it's a huge weakness of such a bulb that it can't work without specific hardware to go with it.
Installation is very easy, but of course you have to rewire the fixture.
tubes are a bit expensive but about the same as new ballast. Little pricey but worth the few extra bucks to replace fluorescent tubes. No complains however.
After diconecting old ballast which was riveted to fixture, found there were 5-6 too short wires wires to deal with. It's now in the trash can. Would not recommend without prior electrical+lighting expertise.
