Excalibur king arthur is a very light and cheap chess set. Game play was enjoyable until game stopped working, would not turn off, could not move pieces. Not responding to input via * and not performing the way instructions say it should.
This is my 6 year old granddaughter's favorite go-to game to play. We have lots of board games and puzzles, but this is her favorite. My 5 year old grand niece loves this game. My grandkids just absolutely enjoy playing.
We play this with kiddos ranging from 3-9 and everyone has fun. My kids are 10, 10, 7 and 6 and they were rolling on the floor laughing. We often play in teams so that my youngest can have extra support, if needed.
We were quarantined for a couple of weeks recently, and had to rely on facetime and zoom for our visits. The pictures make the game easy so you don't have to be able to read to play. Easy to set up and put back into the case.
Cards are very durable. The spinner makes drawing a card more fun. The cards are sturdy so they hold up.
Year-old is too young for this. Too simple for an 8-yr-old.
