After installing these blankets on both of my a/c compressors, it is noticeably quieter. While the sound is still louder than our two stage, the level is overall acceptable. Installing this on our neighbors ac unit dramatically reduced the noise.

The results are impressive. Happy with the purchase so far.

There is a bottom skirt that wraps around the base of the compressor. I did have to open the side panel and feed more of the wire out to the compressor, they all have a bundle of wire pulled back into the side box where the capacitor is.

Our unit is right outside our bedroom and it would wake us up. My compressor sits about 10 feet from my patio. And my neighbors seem happier.

All you need is a razor knife, and duct tape. Cover the whole perimeter with towels before you start installing the sound batt. Very snug, perfect neat fit for my 2004 goodman 10 seer 2.

The cost versus the minor dampening of the sound of 5db makes this a waste of time and money.
