It has a super strong magnet. This has a fairly strong magnet on the bottom, so it can be stuck to something like the underside of a car hood. I like the magnet which will hold the flashing red light securely on the roof of a parked car.

My light has a faulty switch that must be constantly depressed for the light to be on. The side light has the same faulty switch problem. This light is worthless to me.
