For more casual plants, this is great. My tineke rubber tree and monstera deliciosa each have their own bulb and have been absolutely thriving. I also recommend getting a timer to plug it into.
They fit perfectly into our kitchen recessed lights and provide great illumination. Make sure to put up a curtain (preferably reflective) or install them in a fixture with a reflector/shield.
It is in the winter season and my pothos is still sprouting new leaves. I have a bunch of new growth on my miniature roses. I also have a modest sized colocasia that had grown numerous green leaves.
These bulbs are terrific. They are 9 watts which doesn't cost much electricity. The par value is higher for these th than the feit br30 bulbs.
This bulb needs to be around 6-9 inches over the plant in order to work. It messes up the décor of my living room and is in general an eyesore.
The settings (hi med low) allow for different levels of light for different growing purposes. They are bright and certainly work for the plants to grow.
These are a great substitute. As you can see the strip is for 2. Ordered 3 more. Would recommend these.
Do not use this for growing seedlings. At 6 inches, on the brightest setting, it only puts out between 50-60 foot candles. Foot-candle output diminishes greatly more than an inch from the light. Light hangs down touching plants.
