If you have the time and want to be economical and environmentally conscious/friendly, then this is the item. This is really handy to have when your out in the woods. The little satchel it came with is pretty handy.

The chainsaw sharpening * is very affective, and you will definitely be able to sharpen your chain with this item. The * insures that a repeatable angle is achieved for each tooth worked on. As for the quality of the sharpening job, it’s hard to say.

The process is much slower but more precise than doing it with a normal hand sharpener. I do think one could get to a comfortable level of skill with this, however, it takes a little while and some practice.

The angle shaves the wood nicely and stays sharp for a while. For saws where changing blades is more difficult, this may be a downside.
