Seems to be a design problem, since the failure is usually that either the tip or ring disconnects.
Fender patch cables are durable and robust. The rubber insulation is top notch. This is the heaviest guage guitar cable i've ever had.
The fender amp doesn't maintain solid contact, crackles and cuts out. They're hot the second i plug them in and they are so finicky as to what angle they are at when plugged into every single one of my guitars. Don't waste your money.
