Dave barry's collection of essays from the 1980's is a mirthful literary tap-dance. Equally as interesting is barry's synposis of popular classics and poems. Barry dedicates this book to mom and dad, who never made me go see santa claus.
There's lots of references to commies which either means barry was extremely paranoid and brainwashed by his government of the time. Or he is retelling the same joke over and over again throughout the book.
Robin miles's narration of the good house by tananarive due is perfection. This is due at her best. This book did not disappoint.

The book transcends the mystery/thriller/suspense genres. It's a refreshing rarity to read a book in the genre that doesn't underestimate the reader's intelligence even once.
Anti climatic. For some reason, i dislike books that rely so very heavily on graphic *. This author likes to pepper her books with political rhetoric which i found distasteful because of the way she handles it.
