The pulley from the motor to the gears is a plastic band that is very cheap production. The cones included in the kit were warped and didn't stay on very well. Why it takes batteries in is beyond me.
Granddaughter is frustrated and now wants nothing to do with it. I have a 7 yr old and this is way to hard. It's quite disappointing to get you kid excited to do this project, and have it break as soon as you start.
Clay is too hard and not malleable to work with. When you finally get what looks like a bowl, it rips up when removing from mold, then collapses while drying. The c battery powered motor isn't strong enough to really make much of anything.
