Mancala is an old and practical game that as a kid we played with dirt holes and rocks. Even kids - helps them learn counting. It's still playable but it's a little frustrating because they could so easily have made the pits a little deeper.
It's fun and great to add to a collection of retro games. The gameboard is a bit rough so you have to take care to not scratch up your fingers. Those issues are cosmetic and overall this seems like a solid durable set.

Individual spots are just too small and they start to overflow easily. It also slows down the game because the small spots force us to place each marble in slowly.
The numbers are easy to read and the colors distinct where you wouldn't confuse one for another.
The large tile format is wonderful for seniors and smaller kids. The tiles are thicker and easier to handle. They stack nicely on the tray without falling off. Racks are 1 piece so the legs don't fall off.
